Pepper bears clusters of small flowers and small spherical fruits that turn red when they ripen. The berry-like fruits eventually become the peppercorns, and each one bears a single seed. The hot spice of White Pepper is made from its berries. It is the fully mature fruits from which the soft, fleshy outer layers had been ground off before drying.

 

Medicinal Uses

White Pepper is useful in assisting conditions of digestive tract. With its antispasmodic properties it helps to smooth the muscles of the gut. White Pepper essential oil can be used for the treatment of anaemia, it is believed to be a stimulant of the spleen which promotes production of new blood cells. As a commonly-used medicinal agent, White Pepper essential oil has been known to relieve arthritis symptoms, migraine headaches and fever. It is also useful in the treatment of catarrh, chilblains, chills, colds, colic, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, heartburn, infections, loss of appetite, muscular pains, nausea, neuralgia, poor circulation, poor muscle tone, rheumatic pain, sprains.

White Pepper essential oil is notoriously fiery and spicy, with a sharp and woody fragrance, and oriental undertones. The fragrance is full of mystery and intrigue. It is also believed to be fortifying, stimulating and strengthening.
