There are regional variations in Nyonya cooking. Dishes from Penang show a greater Thai influences , they are in favour of using sour ingredients.Instant Penang Nyonya Curry Paste is made of fresh turmeric leaves, lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, shrimp paste and other aromatics.
Cooking Method :
1.Place Instant Penang Nyonya Curry Paste into a pot, saute over low heat for 1 minute then add 1kg of chicken pieces. Increase to medium heat and continue to saute for another 5 mins.
2.Add 250ml of water and allow to come to a boil before adding 250ml of coconut milk or evaporated milk. Bring to a simmer and continue to cook for 5 more mins or until the meat is cooked. (No seasoning is required)
Note: If beef or mutton is used in this recipe, please boil the meat in water until tender before following the above cooking method.
