Usually considered to be a whole grain but it is a seed. Can be consumed like whole grains such as rice or barley but takes less time to cook than other whole grains about 10 to 15 minutes. Gluten-free and cholesterol-free.
Ingredients: Organic white, red and black quinoa
Basic Cooking Instruction: Prepare quinoa like rice. Cover it with water or vegetable broth and boil until soft, about 15 minutes. 1 cup quinoa with 1 1/2 cups cold water plus 1/4 tsp salt (optional) in your rice cooker. Season with a bit of olive oil, sea salt and lemon juice when cooked.
